My 07 ML CDI is approaching 180K miles. I bought it new. Car runs and drives like new. Replaced crank sensor, trans valve- both under warranty. Just got new rear shocks. Other then that just many oil changes. I plan to go for 250 K. My ego wanted me to buy a new ML CDI with new body style etc, but the trade in value for my 07 was insulting. 2005 E320 CDI with 405,000 miles. Car runs and drives perfectly. But for a couple months now I've had a glow Plug issue. When I scan the ECU (with both generic OBDII and ICarsoft i980) it tells me to check connection to cylinder 1&2 glow plugs. I got around to checking out this problem yesterday, and every single glow Plug is testing good.

The solution to no sound is the fiber optic circuit is broken at one of five modules. Mine was clearly the CD changer. Via a $7.00 coupler from my local Mercedes dealer.

There's a number of conditions that need to be correct for the engine to start. One is the crankshaft position sensor which was a known problem on some 2008 CDIs. It was a recall/TSB item. If yours was subject to the recall and replaced then the next thing that comes to mind are the camshaft position sensors.
